Address requirements

New Hampshire's forms spell it out. The address has to be a physical street address in New Hampshire; filings that list an out-of-state address are not processed. P.O. boxes are not accepted.[2]

Because the New Hampshire Secretary of State publishes this address, owners who use their own put it on the public record.

Making a change

The filing is the Statement of Change of Registered Office or Registered Agent, or Both (Form Form 10), filed with the New Hampshire Department of State, Corporation Division. The fee is $15[3].

  1. Choose the new registered agent and get its consent; it has to qualify under N.H. RSA 304-C:36.
  2. File the Statement of Change of Registered Office or Registered Agent, or Both (Form Form 10) with the New Hampshire Department of State, Corporation Division.
  3. Include the $15 filing fee.
  4. Check the New Hampshire Secretary of State business search to confirm the change shows on the record.

Across the 50 states the median change fee is $15; compared with New Hampshire's $15, 23 states charge less and 24 charge more.

Owners moving to Mainstay Filing do not file this themselves: Mainstay files the Statement of Change of Registered Office or Registered Agent, or Both (Form Form 10) and adds New Hampshire's $15 fee at cost[1].
